This is The Science of Sex
, a newsletter to help us understand human sexuality through the power of science.

For years now, weโ€™ve strived to bring you the best content we can find relating to sexual education, sexual health, and very human stories about sex, that topic thatโ€™s eternally taboo yet ever-important. Because of the centuries of stigma surrounding human sexuality, itโ€™s important that we use our rational minds to explore the world of sex and our voices to discuss it.ย

In the darkness of ignorance and forced silence of oppression, sexuality becomes a confusing mess and an unhealthy part of our lives.

The Science of Sex would like to be the antidote to that. We seek to counter centuries of civil and religious oppression, the great assault on the senses, and the wonderful splendor of our vital sexual expression.ย

Sex is more than just an actโ€Šโ€”โ€Šitโ€™s a conversation to be had between one or more persons, a monologue, a dialogue, or a broadcast, depending on whether weโ€™re flying solo, with a partner, or in a group. Sex is an art inasmuch as itโ€™s an expression, a performance inasmuch as itโ€™s an interaction and a conversation between body and soul.

Subscribe below to join us in advancing the totality of human knowledge about sexuality while learning about the undeniably beautiful, strange, and sometimes uncomfortable reality of human sexuality. I sincerely appreciate your readership and support more than you know. Please read the refund policy before subscribing.1

The Science of Sex is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

The Science of Sex Refund Policy:

Now, for refunds. Iโ€™m endlessly thankful for your subscription and stand by my work. Hereโ€™s the refund policy for The Science of Sex:

  • Annual Subscriptions: If you cancel your annual subscription within 7 days of purchase, you are eligible for a full refundโ€”no questions asked.

  • Monthly Subscriptions: Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has started.

  • No Refunds After 7 Days: Beyond the initial 7-day window, we do not offer refunds for any reason, including forgetting to cancel, lack of usage, or changes in personal circumstances.

I set this policy to avoid abuse, protect my very-independent publishing, and ensure fairness to all readers (believe it or not, fraud does happen with us creativesโ€”yes, even us non-millionaire, small-ish-time writers).

Chargebacks

If you attempt to dispute a charge after receiving access to paid content, please understand that we will contest it and provide documentation to support the transaction. If you have any concerns, reach out firstโ€”weโ€™re more than happy to talk.

You can cancel your subscription anytime (meaning you wonโ€™t re-subscribe at the next billing cycle). When you do:

  • Annual plans remain active until the end of the paid term, with no partial refunds.

  • Monthly plans will not renew at the next billing cycle.

You can manage your subscription through your Substack account settings if need be. Or, as alwaysโ€”and is preferredโ€”feel free to reach out to me. I donโ€™t make myself invisible to my readers, unlike many creators. I truly do value you.
